Today, I’m having coffee at Sweet Dreams Café with Jenna Morris, heroine of the Hollywood romance series, Sunset Dreams, by Jennifer Senhaji. I’m here to discuss the most recent release, Book 2, Choosing to Dream.
Jenna: “Colleen, thank you so much for coming. Can I get you an espresso or latte?”
Colleen: “Thank you, Jenna. I’ll have a vanilla latte.”
Jenna: “Coming up and please, call me Jen.”
Colleen: As I wait for Jen to make my drink, I watch her, curious at the way she glances at the clock every few moments. I wonder if I’ve come at a bad time.
Jen: “Here you go. When you called, I wasn’t sure what you wanted to discuss.”
Colleen: “Actually, I wanted to talk about Jake, the new book, how you’re holding up…”
Jen: “What about Jake? You know, you can’t believe everything you read in the tabloids.”
Colleen: “Are you trying to convince me of that or yourself? Do you need to get something off your chest? I’m a great listener.”
Jen: “I… Colleen. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to jump down your throat. I’ve been a mess lately; wondering when Jake is going to call, when I’m going to see him again. I’m going a little nuts.”
Colleen: “I understand. I would be too. So, you and Jake decided to take the plunge and engage in a long distance relationship. Do you see any light at the end of the tunnel?”
Jenna: “That’s just it, there’s light, but the tunnel keeps getting longer and longer.”
Colleen: Thinking maybe I need to change the subject, I ask about the book. “Choosing to Dream is the second book in the Sunset Dreams Series. Were you aware the author was going to turn Sweet Dreams into a series?”
Jen: “I wasn’t sure, but at the end of Sweet Dreams, even though it wasn’t a cliff hanger, I felt that the story was just beginning. I was excited to move into the next stage in our relationship. But the realty is ridiculously hard. When you find the one you love, and are lucky enough to have them love you back just as much, and then to be separated… It’s torture.”
Colleen: “Is there a chance you two won’t find a way to make it work?”
Jen: “I haven’t read the book yet. Do Jake and I ever find a way to be together? How do we deal with his traveling for work, the paparazzi, and the café?”
Colleen: I’m tempted to give something away as Jen sits there, her eyes pleading with me. But I hate spoilers. “All I can say is hang in there. If I know Jennifer Senhaji, and I do, there will be a happily ever after.”
Jen: A gust of air blows past her lips as her shoulders relax. “Thanks. Yeah, I think you’re right. Now, what is it you wanted to know?”
Colleen: “How’s Jake in bed?”
Jen: “You’ll have to read the book.”
Colleen: I would like to note that Jen has a very big smile on her face. And I will leave you with that last tidbit!
